If you’re an unsigned band these days, the wind is cold. The days when record companies were on the look out for good bands and artists have gone, and many an established band finds themselve without support.
Being the music fans we are, we all buy CDs and records…. Now, supposing you could buy your CDs etc. at a normal High Street price, and the buying alone would generate referrals from up to 15% with which we could support one or more unsigned artists in their endeavour to finance their next production, don’t you think that that would be a fantastic thing?
It’s not possible, you say? Really?

This project builds upon 2 concepts
- amazon referal programm
buy buying your goods at amazon (USA, UK, Germany) after entering the site through links on Mystery Lyrics, you are generating referals of up to 15% depending on what you buy. These will be invested to 100% in artists on sellaband that we decide on - sellaband
Sellaband works on the principal of crowd funding (Wikipedia definition here). In short, Sellaband funds the next production of a given artist after he or she reaches the target that he or she has set. The money comes from “Believers” who invest in the artist and buy “parts”. 1 part costs 10$. In exchange the artist offers certains incentives to the believers. Usually at least one CD will be given, sometimes show tickets, and for major contibutions anything up to a mention on the CD cover or recognition as a co-producer

What’s in it for us?
apart from the incentives; recognition, and the knowledge that we are helping unsigned artists make their way in todays very difficult music market.
Next time you want to buy a CD, technical equipment, really virtually anything, why not click on an amazon link on this website to buy there and help our project? Its that simple… (links to amazon UK and Germany will appear here shortly)
BTW, if you would like to actively take part in this – i.e. discuss with us which artists should be funded, and with how much, please join the “Funding Bands” group at Total Oldies

Dave
I just got lost in the The Mystery Lyrics Archive section of the web site for the last couple hours
You’re one amazing man my friend I was trying to think of all the hours you must have spent linking up all these names…. I have some sort of idea from the 1st time I made the original lists of artist names & song titles (when Ghostie & I originally put those lists together alphabetizing them all on BOTH lists) you have taken it to a new level and it is deeply appreciated….
Do we have to buy the whole CD or is ordering MP3s from Amazon still getting us a credit?
Thanx again,
Sev
